Not only does spaying and neutering help to control the pet homelessness crisis, which results in millions of healthy dogs and cats being euthanized in the United States each year simply because there aren’t enough homes to go around, there are also medical and behavioral benefits to spaying and neutering your animals. You can read more here.
Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana (SNSI) receives funding from this specialty plate and provides direct support to nearly 250 rescue groups and shelters across the state. They give rescue groups and shelters FREE spay/neuter surgery certificates so they can alter pets before adopting them into their forever homes. SNSI also provides FREE certificates for Community Cats (feral and free-roaming cats), reducing the number of unwanted litters and preventing cats from entering shelters.
If you are interested in adopting a dog or cat from Mixed Up Mutts, please fill out the online application.
You must have an approved application prior to meeting one of our rescues. There is no obligation to adopt but it does help us to expedite the process.
You must provide the name and phone number of your current veterinarian where your pet records are located. If you do not currently have any pets and do not have a current veterinarian, we will need the name and phone number of your previous veterinarian. No application will be approved unless we receive this information.
We accept debit cards, credit cards, and cash at the time of adoption.

Paisley is a very affectionate and playful girl. She is outgoing, sweet, and gentle. Paisley is undergoing heartworm treatment right now but is almost done. As soon as she completes her treatment and training, she'll be available for adoption.
All of our "P.T." dogs go through obedience training, household manners, and socialization, both canine & human. Each one is normally enrolled in the program for at least 8 wks. If they complete their 8 wks and they don't get adopted, then they just continue training! (MUM commits for the lifetime of each dog we take in) We have a few "seasoned" dogs that have been with us for a while. This just means that they have had continuous training throughout their "incarceration" and are quite proficient with their skills. They have also been invaluable in teaching new handlers the proper training techniques plus helping new dogs find their way in the pack hierarchy. These dogs are certainly earning their keep!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
All animals at Mixed Up Mutts are fully vetted prior to adoption.
For dogs, this includes—but but is not limited to—spay or neuter, negative heartworm test, vaccines (rabies, distemper, leptospirosis, parvovirus & bordetella), microchip, complete doses of intestinal all-wormer, and heartworm and flea/tick preventative.
For cats, this includes—but is not limited too—spay or neuter, vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchip, complete doses of intestinal all-wormer, and Revolution parasite preventative. Some cats may be tested/vaccinated for feline leukemia or FIV or be declawed. Please review the description of each cat for more information.
Occasionally MUM will receive an animal who needs more medical attention than listed above. MUM provides this for them yet does not add it to the adoption fee.Occasionally our adoption fees may be lower for special needs or senior dogs.Because of all this, MUM relies heavily on any and all donations!
Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster evaluation of the dog. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home.
