T is a spotted, hairless toy Xoloitzcuintli, or Xolo for short, also known as a Mexican hairless dog. He was an owner surrender due to a domestic violence emergency. He weighs 10 pounds and is 8 years old.

As a hairless breed, T is hypoallergenic.  He requires bathing, light grooming, and skin care, or else he can develop acne. As Xolos are a native of tropical climates, T requires a sweater in cooler weather.  His skin will sunburn, scratch easily, and needs moisturizer.  Because of skin issues, T should stay on his current food, which is a salmon-based, grain free food.

T gets along with other dogs and cats. We recommend that he meet any potential four legged family members, as he cannot withstand any rough housing. We are looking for a home without children for T, as he is not impressed and will avoid them, and would do best in a fairly quiet home.

Xolos are known to be highly intelligent, sensitive, inquisitive, and social.  T is food motivated, likes to be petted, and while not overly cuddly he likes to sleep next to his person and under the covers. He enjoys a soft area in which to sleep. While not initially outgoing, T warms up quickly. T is pretty low energy, is leash trained, crate trained, and is housebroken.

All animals at Mixed Up Mutts are fully vetted prior to adoption.

For dogs, this includes—but  but is not limited to—spay or neuter, negative heartworm test, vaccines (rabies, distemper, leptospirosis, parvovirus & bordetella), microchip, complete doses of intestinal all-wormer, and heartworm and flea/tick preventative.

For cats, this includes—but is not limited too—spay or neuter, vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchip, complete doses of intestinal all-wormer, and Revolution parasite preventative.  Some cats may be tested/vaccinated for feline leukemia or FIV or be declawed.  Please review the description of each cat for more information.

Occasionally MUM will receive an animal who needs more medical attention than listed above. MUM provides this for them yet does not add it to the adoption fee. Occasionally our adoption fees may be lower for special needs or senior dogs. Because of all this, MUM relies heavily on any and all donations!

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster evaluation of the dog. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc. it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Those interested in adopting should have read all information about the animal and understand they cannot claim they did not understand the facts about this animal as understood by Mixed Up Mutts and/or the foster.  We do our best to provide an accurate age and breed of the animal, but sometimes they are educated guesses. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
